BRITISH DESIGN AWARD 1987 A British Design Award, presented by The Design Council for the design of the plastic Super Speedfit range of connectors. WRAS CERTIFICATION 1988 The Water Regulation Advisory Scheme (WRAS) assesses water fittings on behalf of the United Kingdom Water Industry to ensure that they do not 'waste, misuse, unduly consume or contaminate the water supply'. John Guest now has 19 WRAS Approvals covering products from the Plumbing and Heating, and Drinks Dispense Ranges. THE QUEEN'S AWARD FOR EXPORT ACHIEVEMENT 1990 A highly prestigious award granted by Her Majesty the Queen to those making an outstanding contribution to the country and its economy. The company started direct exports in the early 1980's. Within 10 years they accounted for 53% of total turnover. FORD MOTOR COMPANY Q1 AWARD 1991 In 1991 John Guest Limited was awarded the Ford Motor Company Quality 1 standard of excellence, at the time, considered by many to be the highest accolade of quality manufacture available anywhere in the world. Agrement Certificates are recognised as providing technical data with impartial and unbiased information on the performance of the product to regulations and standards. HONG KONG WATER AUTHORITY 19965 JG Speedfit Plastic Push-fit Fittings accepted by the Hong Kong Water Authority. 1997 NSF/ ANSI 14, 51 & 61 The National Sanitation Foundation is an internationally recognised organisation that sets standards for food and drinking water related products. Many of John Guest's Plumbing and Drinks Dispense Fittings Valves, Pipe and Tube are covered by NSF 14, 51 or 61 Certification. Certification is maintained through routine testing and auditing of the manufacturing facility. BRITISH STANDARDS INSTITUTE KITEMARK (1998) TO BS7291 PARTS 1,2 & 3 Speedfit Plumbing System of Fittings and Pipe Certificate Number KM39767. The Kitemark is the consumer's guarantee that the product conforms to the British Standard being claimed and that the product meets required quality and safety standards. Certification, given by the British Standards Institute, confirms the product(s) have been independently tested and certification is maintained by routine independent audit of manufacturing and product testing. THE QUEEN'S AWARDS FOR INTERNATIONAL TRADE 2000 In the presenting of the third Queen's Award for Export/ International Trade, it was noted that the company's export turnover had increased by 250% in six years. ISO 14001 Environmental Management System 2002 ISO 14001 is a management system for improving a companyÕs environmental impact by reducing its energy footprint, minimising waste and preventing pollution. NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF PUBLIC HEALTH - NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HYGIENE 2003 (POLAND) The Speedfit Push-fit System of fittings and pipe accepted for use with potable water systems. FOOD CONTACT DIRECTIVE 2004 John Guest certifies that their Acetal and Polypropylene Fittings and LLDPE Tube are manufactured from materials and produced in a manner which fulfils the requirements of EC framework directive EC 1935/2004 for materials intended to come into contact with food and as such, can show the Food Contact symbol. THE QUEEN'S AWARDS FOR ENTERPRISE 2005 Given to companies to recognise outstanding product innovation. The Award was given to John Guest in recognition of the company,s development of the 'Twist and Lock' Range of Push-fit Fittings, 'Superseal' Pipe Insert and plastic barrier pipe. This involved not only investment in product design but also in the methods of production processes needed to be able to make a quality plastic plumbing system that is cost effective, easy to use and manufactured in an environmentally friendly way. Customers benefit, amongst other things, from reduced lead times and increased product reliability. DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND HOUSING, NEW ZEALAND (2005) The Speedfit Plumbing System complies with the Durability, Hazardous Building Materials and Water Supplies clauses of the New Zealand Building Code. IRISH AGREMENT BOAR Received in 2005, the Speedfit Plumbing System has certification of building and construction products to Irish Building Regulations and associated product performance standards. SABS (SOUTH AFRICA) Certification given to Speedfit Plumbing System in 2008 by the South African Bureau of Standards confirming suitability for use within South African plumbing systems.
